Saw an easy peanut butter recipe the other day and decided to make my own spin on it. These are perfect if maybe you are craving something sweet. These fit the bill, are healthy, and filling! Perfection.
Protein chocolate peanut butter cookies:
Ingredients: 1 cup all natural peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)
1 cup stevia
2 large eggs
2 scoop chocolate protein. (I used 22 days chocolate plant protein)
Just mix all together! Bake at 350 for ten minutes and voila! Done.
Macros: for 8 servings
Also, you can, of course, use different proteins and add different things to make it unique but the macros will change.
So in case you can’t tell I have some goodies to show off today! I stopped by my local Vitamin Shoppe to use a coupon I had because I was out of protein. GASP I can’t live without my protein drank and I found some more goodies while I was there, of course.
I picked up:
Isopure Zero Carb banana flavor- this is amazeballs. It has zero carbs, packs a protein punch of 25 grams per scoop and no aspartame. thumbs up!
Quest bar white chocolate raspberry– this is Quest’s new flavor and oh em gee it’s so good! May be a new favorite
Quest bar chocolate brownie– this is my favorite flavor and it tastes fabulous when heated!
If you don’t know about quest it is packed with protein, fiber, low sugar and it’s not full of processes junk like most protein bars!
Ostrich jerky – I haven’t had this yet but I have been trying new forms of protein lately and this little piece packs 15 grams! Sounds good to me.
As far as my personal life goes I went to New Orleans for my first time everrrrr this weekend! So much fun. So I will leave you pictures of some of my escapades.
Red Dress Run
This is a grilled gator sandwich I ate open face. Gator has so much protein and is delicious!
I had a blast and can’t wait to go back!
Hey you guys I’m back at my running game! The other day it wasn’t hot as Haiti so I decided to give running a go and see if my shin was acting up still and it didn’t! Whoop whoop. So I am sticking to the elliptical at the gym and trying to run more and build my endurance back up. So there’s the good news and for the bad news as soon as I realized I could run again it’s been monsoon season again in the afternoons. Soooooo frustrating! But what can ya do.
On a side note I create an amazon creation today. I don’t know how it happened or why it came out this way but my protein smoothie this morning tasted like a McDonald’s Oreo McFlurry if I were to guess ( just kidding I used to be obsessed with those things).
What went in it:
1 scoop chocolate protein
1/3 cup spinach
1/4 cup orange slices
1/2 cup almond milk
Maybe I have weird taste buds I’m not sure but this tasted just like one to me I swear I’m not crazy.
And for motivation, this is actually my favorite prayer and perfect for a religious runner or anyone really.
Almost HUMP DAYYYYYY!
So check this out: it finally May and Friday! I am one excited lady! This month is my birthday month and I have so much going on with cinco de mayo, maybe a zombie run, memorial weekend my BIRTHDAYYYYY and I will be in New York. I can’t wait to visit and
blow my money see my brother. Also, you know your a fitness addict when the highlight of your trip is getting to visit a whole foods. We are deprived here in Alabama and the closest one to me is more than 3 hours away. So this girl will probably be spending a nice chunk of change there. Watch out Whole Foods hope your stocked up!
In other exciting news I have a new product to brag about. Recently I ran out of protein powder…which is like one of the worst feelings of ever..and I had a coupon for gnc so I swung on by. I was perusing through the store and couldn’t find my usual protein of isopure or any good vegan proteins. Since buying powder for me is difficult with my lactose allergy but I stumbled upon Muscle Milk and it was on sale and lactose free so I was like why not. GUYS I’m in LOVE. It doesn’t even taste like protein it taste like
heaven a milkshake. Go buy it right now. It’s legend-wait for it because it doesn’t have any-dary.
As far as work outs go I am finally starting to see lots of changes and muscle from my Jamie Eason Live Fit program. If you are just starting off in strength training or just want to try something different I suggest you try it. I am sad it’s almost over but I am ready to try something new to switch thangs up. Anywho, have a good weekend y’all!
So I had to post this because as a peanut butter and self proclaimed sweets addict when I saw this I was so excited to try it out.
Let me explain to you why. This recipe is for HEALTHY peanut butter cups. I know I know it’s amazing. A fellow blogger I follow Healthy Valerie posted them and I figured I’d share the wealth with you guys. Check it:
- 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
- 2 tbsp pure unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3-4 packets Stevia
- 8 oz water
- All natural peanut butter or any other nut butter of your choice
1. Blend all the ingredients for the chocolate. Remove from blender and let it sits for 5 min in a medium bowl.
2. Drop tablespoonfuls of chocolate mixture into paper-lined muffin cups. Top each with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter ; top with another tablespoonful of chocolate mixture.
3. Freeze for an hour. Take one or two out of the freezer, let them sit for 5-10 min.
So go make some right now! Do it!
Happy humpday! Thank goodness the weeks almost over. Since it’s spring normally I would be excited for the weekend nearing because that would mean beach time. That is not the case however because for some reason it is a cheery 40 degrees outside! Whaaaaa!? Craziness.
Well, let me tell you my day. I woke up sooooore. I am definitely feeling the change in reps and weights in my strength training plan. Too makes day better I also went to the dentist. Oh joy! Don’t you just love when you go and they are trying to hold a conversation with you? Like…you know your hands in my mouth right now ya know the thing I use to speak. Yeaaahhhh.
As far as my diet goes I have been doing so good! No cheating. I have been trying to fit in more natural protein instead of mostly from shakes and try and eat less carbs and sugar. I must say Easter is going to be rough though I hope I can do well. : / I went to the store today and a bag of dark chocolate raisinets called my name! At least it’s semi healthy right? We will go with that.
Here’s an example of my meal.
Egg whites, spinach, and turkey meatballs. Breakfast of champions..but for dinner. There’s never a bad time for breakfast food.
For my workout today I had another bodypump class. We had a different instructor. I had her once before and let me say she is one tough cookie. After the class I got on the treadmill for a quick interval work out. A few minutes in a guy got next to me and his cologne was so strong I had to get off because it was making me nauseous! Hate that he ruined my work out but I hope to make it up tomorrow.
I think I will still be sore tomorrow for sure. I will let you know. Adios!
After this past weekend I knew I had gotten a little off track on the healthy eating. Yesterday when I stepped on the scale the number staring back at me was not what I wanted to see. It made me get down on myself that after weeks in the gym and relatively clean eating I am not dropping weight. Though I have been looking at other blogs and seeing other girls transformations and it is clear that what we are taught about the goal being a small number but what is important is to be fit. I can tell I have been getting stronger and I know there is no reason to stop reaching for my goal. Muscle weighs more than fat and while you may not look like you are leaning out I know that slow progress is progress. So I am no longer going by the scale and neither should you!
Now for today for breakfast I decided made some over night oats with milk and cinnamon and this morning I threw and egg white in their an heated it up. I must say I had not tried it before but had heard many say it was a go to breakfast and turns out it was pretty good and quite filing. Protein packed and held me over til lunch, just what I needed.
For lunch I ate two flounder filets, Brussels sprouts, raw carrots, and green apple slices dipped in yogurt for some sweetness.
Pre-workout I decided to try one if the new protein samples I received in the mail the other day.
About time protein. I had read about it on another bloggers page fromfriestofit.com and decided to try it out. I’m always up for trying new things : ) They have tons of awesome flavors so I went with cinnamon roll and peaches and cream. Today was peaches and cream and it was sadly not my favorite. Maybe if I mixed it with some peaches or yogurt it might help. I have higher hopes for the cinnamon roll!
For my work out I did back and biceps for Week 4 of Jamie Eason’s Livefit program.
Post work out I needed protein but wast feeling another shake so I decided to try out a protein mug cake!
It may not look like much but for it to be healthy and sweet enough for this girl it’s a definite keeper in my recipe book.
Protein Mug Cake
1 scoop chocolate protein
1 tbsp cocoa unsweetened
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp milk (non-fat)
Salt to taste
Mix the dry ingredients until no clumps and then throw in the milk and egg and mix well. Throw it in the microwave for a minute. Enjoy!
I added coconut and banana for an extra kick. I may try next time with some cool whip and strawberries to satisfy my sweet tooth.
